Our first ever “ILHAM Asatizah Awards” (IAA) was held on 4 December at Singapore Islamic Hub Auditorium. This ceremony is to celebrate the achievements of asatizahs who have excelled in their classrooms as part of ILHAM’s efforts to professionalise asatizah and recognise their outstanding performance in lesson delivery and commitment to the students.
Chief Executive of Muis, Mr Kadir Maideen, graced the ceremony and gave out awards to the winners. The hybrid event with 50 attendees, including award winners, attended face to face while 200 part-time teachers streamed to the event live.
To receive the IAA, all teachers are observed in their classrooms and their performance outside of classroom tracked. IAA winners received a cash reward, a Certificate of Achievement, a plaque and a letter of commendation.
This year, 10 winners have been identified to receive the IAA for their excellent delivery in the classrooms and the commitment and care that they have shown towards their students.
The mass briefing session was the platform used to introduce ILHAM to the asatizah cohort held at Muis Auditorium. We had the pleasure of Dr AlBakri, DCE MUIS, grace the event with an opening address. Asatizahs were then briefed on the objectives of the centralization of aLIVE centres and informed of the Teachers Scheme of Service.
With the tight Safe Management Plans implemented, we have had to conduct two separate sessions to accommodate a total of 80 asatizah.
